It's Paddy's Day --- and I know I'm a yogi

because there are turmeric stains on my kitchen floor. I was washing the kitchen floor two weeks ago and there they were - indescribably yellow, indelible turmeric stains. They likely landed there when making Potent Potatoes. Clearly, not everyone who has turmeric stains in their kitchen is a yogi, but it was for a me clear indication of the subtle inculcation of living the life of a yogi while taking Kundalini Yoga teacher training. I say 'taking,' but it is something else; it is immersion in a process with no real idea what the end-result will be.

As is Aquarian Sadhana. This morning, I chanted the mantras for the Aquarian Age along with the recording called Melody and Majesty. The sequence of mantras is a journey itself, and this recording is an ideal vehicle. You simply get on board and go where it artfully, soulfully takes you. This morning's journey was to etheric realms -- yummy! My cat Dolly often joins me for sadhana - sitting nearby, purring and displaying amazing alacrity with some pretty tricky asanas. This morning, she twice punctuated my chanting with excited body-butts -- at opportune moments when contact with earthly realms was needed to keep me here.

I know I'm a yogi because three days ago, I woke early with Japji Sahib  intoning itself in my mind. It's like it was calling me - "Arise! Say me/sing me/chant me/ love me." And so I did.

And finally, I know I'm a yogi because, well........ it's St. Patrick's day, and I have strayed so far from my Irish roots that I was up at 4 o'clock this morning for Aquarian Sadhana - joining in spirit with Loreli, Ajooni, Beantpal and countless others around the globe. No green beer for me today!
